Lower the tax burden for families
In Alabama, if you don't have a lobbyist on your payroll, your taxes are probably going to go up.
If you elect me your governor, I'll be your lobbyist on the tax issue. And here's what I'll do:
First, I'll roll back the property tax increase that was forced on us without a vote. When I'm elected, we'll end annual property tax appraisals and that will save your family money.
Second, I'll lead the fight to do away with the state sales tax on groceries. Alabama is one of only four states without some kind of tax break on groceries. Doing away with this tax will save thousands of dollars a year for hardworking Alabama families.
Third, I promise you that when I'm Governor, I will NEVER support raising taxes on working families and small businesses.
With the revenues we gain from finally taxing casino gambling in Alabama, we can eliminate any need for new taxes, freeze existing taxes, and still meet our obligations to education and general fund programs.
No new taxes is my commitment to you. Together we will make a difference.
